That wind was relentless on Saturday! Sounds like you had the chunks dialed in though. I should hunt more for the southern SMB. I just tend to find a few, now and then, while looking for green bass. Lake George From: Tom (170.163.80.2), Connecticut Tony - I generally trailer to Champlain from CT when I can, but had read on an old posting that some guys felt Lake George has some good fishing. I've always thought Lake George was strictly for family recreation (ie skiing etc)and since you fish out of Ti I'm wondering if you might know if Lake George is productive enough to try using artificials only vs Champlain. Both tournaments and just for the fun of it. I launch out of the north end, Mossy point state launch. You will need to get a boat use permit, which you can get in the town of Ti. North end offers less boat traffic, although the weekends can be tuff, be prepared for alot of boat traffic. Besides being a very beautiful lake it offers some of the great fishing, it can produce alot of fish in the 1-3 lb class, smallmouth and large mouth. It's a very clear, deep water type of fishing. I have fished in up to 65 feet using a drop shot or tube bait. Obtain a map of the lake before you head out. Good luck, Tony |
