If you launch in Concord, the Merrimack is typically not that bad when its windy. Good smallies in the rapids down by Blue Seal feeds and LM in the coves north of the launch. Just make sure it hasn't rained alot or the current will make it almost impossible. Good wind pond From: Twins (206.183.140.244), New hampshire Hi All, The most beautifu lake I have ever fished is Grafton pond. Clear water, good on windy days. Smallish water(est.30acres?) lots of small islands. Evry place looks fishy. Good smalliese and largemouths. Set low down and can hide and fish other side of islands and coves in thewwind. Loons will sing all Day long. Trolling motors , canoes etc only sorry no gas motors. But quiet(little pressure, beautiful and good fish. Went last year twice with sons acaugh about 15 fish each . Most averaged about 2.5 to 3.5 with one (my largest LM at 7.10lbs.) Caught on Jig around deep 12 ft giant rocks., Lots of rocky points and flats dropping into depths. GORGEous lake. Its up 89 hwy bout 40 min from concord north of 89 hwy(grafton county. Great water that was hit by the bass parasite/tapeworm or whatever. |
