Wateree From: a guy in a boat (131.46.41.71), South carolina
Um....fish plastics shallow and you should have a blast on smaller fish. It will be a zoo, but I will be out there on Saturday and SUnday as well. Dont feed the monkeys!

Thanks! Will give it all a try and let ya'll know what is going on when I get back Monday. Will not feed or touch the monkeys! Good luck!
Wateree Stripers From: PiratesAboard (76.0.128.142), North carolina
Best get out early and back in by 10 a.m. unless you want to be swamped, or run over. By 10:30 on a holiday weekend the boats are quadruple thick, back and forth 2'seas with wakes.... Stripers have shown but are small and scattered, as best as we could tell both a weekend ago and this past Friday, per my brother in law who lives year round on the lake. We fished together last weekend and caught, but like I said everything was small and nothing concentrated, at least that we could find. Seems we haven't cracked the code on their location in May and June.

yesterday (Sat) WAS a zoo. We almost scored a pontoon full of drunks and a couple of jet skis.

Thanks all. Yes, was a rough, hard time fishing. Many, many drunks, boats and tidle waves. Water temp. 79-83*. All in all, not good fishing for me or anyone I asked. In the mornings before the zoo started from daylight to about 9am could catch small bass on top water about anywhere with buzzbait (white) but no size. Afternoons in shady spots on plastics but small. Jigging spoon only got me white bass and bream. No luck with stripers as was too many boats to anchor (and was scared I might get clobbered). Caught a few cats off the bank where we were camping at night. Got 2 right over 15 lbs. and lost some whoppers on bought herring as no shad was seen to use for bait. Park ranger told me a 79 lb. catfish was caught and was maybe a new record for Wateree. Anyway, had fun looking at all the wild monkeys for 3 days! Glad you made it home safe! See ya again next time on the water.
