Know of a couple places down there like that. Minnehaha would be my first choice southeast of terre haute. Green sullivan has a couple ponds close together as well. 1000 islands From: Jumbo (76.215.34.147), Indiana thousand islands is near the Green/Sullivan state forest fishing area near the town of Dugger Indiana. Ive only been there once many years ago so I dont remember the exact location or directions to it. Stop in at "Minners bait shop" they will be able to tell you how to get there. land of 1000 lakes From: Warren Goodrich (148.78.63.154), Indiana What you are referring to is Linton Indiana. Strip pits everywhere around that town. Most are open to the public. A few have ramps where you can put a bass boat in but many are not with ramps where you will need a light weight boat like a john boat and trolling motor. Fished there for years when I was younger and even scuba dive a few of the pits. Great fishing and remote country setting. Used to be strip mines. Many large fish have been caught there. DNR works the area so be sure to have your fishing license. Enjoy Wg |
