Grass? From: Don (67.162.237.161), Delaware
I haven't been on Haven Lake in a couple years. Is it still completely choked up with grass? I was there in the spring of 2005 for the first time and it was also the last time. At that time there was so much vegetation in the lake I was continually having to clean the trolling motor off. I've been told the fishing can be really good so I'd love to get back out there. Also, I can't remember for sure but is the ramp paved or is it a dirt ramp? Thanks! Haven lake From: bassinboy (71.162.129.211), Delaware The weeds are gone, haven has what appers to be a decent ramp until you run off of it. state did weed controll and ruined the milford pond chain. those weeds were fun to fish, they filtered and cleaned the water, as well as restoing oxygen to the pond. haven is not a heathy pond with out weeds. concord pond is another example of overzealous weed control, its not as good as it used to be, and they seemed to have killed a lot of the weeds in the concord branch of the nanticoke river. i was there a couple weeks ago and it seemed like i was fishing something that ran to the delaware bay.....dirt bottoms not nearly the water clarity, banks eroded, lily pads much further apart on both sides of channel. if i put something in the water and did the damage i feel the state did with its weed control, i should be in jail......i welcome your comments |
