It's great to see a post from Beck's Pond. That was the first place I ever fished, back in '69 when I was 3 yrs. old, living in Wilmington at the time. Didn't get serious about bass fishing until 1989, but always remembered renting that row boat and catching a ton of blue gill on a toy rod and reel. My dad still teases me about that, because I insisted that he clean and cook them. Thanks for the post. Caught a couple of small catfish in the weeds, and my Pop caught a tiny bass. Which leads me to ask, are there any tricks to catching the big ones in there if only fishing from the bank? Don't have a boat to get to the other end so I'm a little stuck trying to get "real" fish. Thanks. Beck's From: Andrew (69.142.168.199), Delaware I recommend fishing the entire shoreline here actually. I've caught many a fish from the right side of the spillway up through the beach area and out to the points. Try some big shiners off the second point in the AM and see how it goes. A boat is nice to get away from the heavy shoreline traffic but there's plenty of fish in this pond if you have the patience for them. Best of luck and don't forget to release the fish! =D |
