yo buff, i've been out half a dozen times lately and i may have caught 3 keepers and prolly total of 12 fish. the biggest fish lately has been a 7-8 lb. catfish and i ain't never caught a catfish on a spotsticker before.LOL i'm fishing Wahoo, Little, Hooch and Thompson Bridge area. trying same as guys reporting, flukes, spooks, spotstickers, fishheads, on points, flats, and some brush. nada, none, zero luck. past 20 years by now, have had good luck and average 1-2 lb. spots with similar baits. going to head to mid-lake from now on. this end always harder except for LM and i hardly ever fish for them anymore. i think spots must like the deeper and clearer water. good luck. Largemouth?? From: buffaloirish (68.156.14.66), Georgia I barely would recognize a largemouth. I've been fishing this part of Hooch/Lanier for 3+ years, and never caught a largemouth? Where/how are you catching LMs? Ever do any crappie fishing up in this area (hooch-Little?). I'd like to get on some crappie, too. Where LM's? From: Mac (65.5.187.199), Virginia Up Wahoo and Little, try areas of old stump beds where trees were cut before lake filled up and any fallen or blowdown trees. Lots of brush piles around older docks. Use graph and find big piles close to deep water. Crappie in all piles in Mar,Apr, and some in May. Texas rig and Carolina rig for LM and 1/32 jigs and tubes on floats for crappie. Best crappie by "shooting" Snoopy Rods under closed docks. |
