Remedy for jet skiers and "too close joy riders" From: Twins (24.62.183.93), New hampshire
I think We've all experienced way too many times when some guy in a 35k luxury proshop joecool ski bot blows past us at 50 ft doing about 45mph. Meanwhile were holding on to the deck seat and the trolling motor is slamming up and down in the water as you ride 3 ft. waves. Rumor has it, though I'd never resort to such barbaric tactics myself, being a gentleman angler (snif)etc., that a 1oz. rattletrap on a 7ft heavy action rod with 20lb test line makes for excellent "sport" fishing when the jet skiiers are illegally buzzing your bass boat at 40 mph. The trick is all in how much you have to lead them and being sure that your drag is properly set. Another rumor has it that the state record is currently a 5'11" 175lb resident of Mass. who was successfully landed after a hard fought battle(must of had a turbo rig under the seat). Luckily no gaff was needed. Seriously though: Yeah , drives me nuts when I wait days for no wind and a glassy surface so that I can twitch a topwater bait and watch it explode, only to have the Aquatic NASCAR race almost swamp my boat. Common courtesy isn't quite so common anymore, I'm afraid. Twins Horace Lake From: Drekab (65.29.209.88), Ohio I'm going to be vacationing at Lake Shore Village on Horace early this October.
