Just moved from Alex down to Baton Rouge. Was wondering where is Vernon and why type of water is is? I am wanting to bring my rig down, but would like some help finding some stuff around here. Any info would be appreciated. SB Alex From: Ronald (68.213.152.51), Louisiana HEY VERNON IS A VERY GOOD LAKE BUT IF YOU HAVE A FIBERGLASS RIG YOU BETTER STICK TO TOLEDO.VERNON IS THE COLOR OF CHOCOLATE MILK MOST OF THE YEAR FOR SOME REASON,BUT THE FISH STILL BITE.THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THERES NO BOAT LANES SO YOU PRETTY MUCH HAVE TO JUST START FISHING WHERE EVER YOU PUT YOUR BOAT IN.THE END OF JULY AND AUGUST THE FISH REALLY SCHOOL GOOD AND YOU CAN CATCH YOUR LIMIT OF 13 3/4 FISH REALL QUICK.THE STUMPS IN THIS LAKE A RIDICULOUS.THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.I HAVE A BASS TRACKER SO I DONT MIND IF I BUMP OOVER A STUMP EVERY NOW AND THEN.BUT DURING THE SPRING YOU CAN CATCH SOME REALLY GOOD FISH.I HAVE CAUGHT A COUPLE 8 pounders and several 5pounders and have seen some over 10.THERE IS SOME REALLY BIG FISH HERE BECAUSE OF THE SLOT THATS ANOTHER REASON ALOT OF PEOPLE DONT LIKE TO FISH IT I DONT LIKE THROWING A 3LB BASS BACK BUT WITH THE 14-17 SLOT YOU DO.HOPE THIS HELPED. Vernon From: Ronald (68.213.152.51), Louisiana I forgot to tell you vernon is on the west side of leesville you turn left a the sheriffs office on hwy 8 i think but just look for the signs when your turn left at the sheriffs station its about 4 or 5 miles if that on the right it has signs by the road. |
