Sorry Pal, Baccarac has El Salto's Number Right Now From: Sean (24.115.236.232), Pennsylvania
We matched those numbers and then some with double digit fish in May of this year.

We all have our opinions I guess.

I just got back from Baccarac June 27, The fishing was unbeleivable. Two over 10 and so many 9's we did not even count them. Definately baccarac is the place to go.

Sorry, I forget how touchy fisherman can be. I should have said "ONE of the best lakes in Mexico". Congratulations on your catches, PAL. I guess it is a good thing we have different choices in lakes that have quality bass in them. You have your favorite and I have mine. Not trying to be a turd, it is just amazing all the negative crap you read on this site about some lodges and then you actually go there again and as usual, the reports are false. Maybe I will try your lake next time.
Baccaracvs Salto From: Steve Kirk (70.247.216.187), Texas
Hey guys, I talked Terry Rader a booking agent who is the biggest salesman for Lake El Salto. He point blank claims that Lake Baccarac is the best lake in Mexico, hands down. He recommends everyone go to Baccarac. That should say it all
El Salto From: Jay (76.252.188.250), Indiana
OK, here is the scoop on El Salto. I have been there 8 times in the last 4 yrs. My best season was July 2005. Had 3 over 10 on that trip. Worst season was July 2006. Just fished and filmed a program this last July on El Salto. Is the fishing as good as it was 2-3 years ago, no. Is it improving again, yes. I have been twice this year and the bass are very healthy. My biggest this year was an 8lber. In no way is this lake dead. Numbers are good and the fish are as healthy as I have seen on any lake. There is much being said about Baccarac. I have not fished it, but a very good friend of mine has and said the fishing is good. There is alot of competition between lodges on these lakes and it's almost humorous when a lodge owner on another lake is telling me how bad El Salto is, or Mateos, etc.. In my personal opinion, Comedero is one that people should look at. Not much pressure and the reports from both lodges are consistant. I am takng a group of 8 to Comedero in February 08 and will post upon my return. Talk to fisherman, not lodge owners when trying to get an accurate report. I plan on hitting Baccarac next June. Feel free to email me with any questions. I love fishing these Mexican lakes. It's a nice change every once in awhile.
