Havens From: Jim (167.21.1.225), Delaware
Yes, the break-ins are bad at this place. Try Trap Pond. It has several types of grass and cypress trees to fish here. Good bass, crappie and pickeral. Killens State Park is good too. In northern Delaware Lums Pond is the best in New Castle Co.
brake-ins? From: born2hunt (138.123.136.103), Delaware
I've lived in the area for 12 years now and have fished every pond in DE (I think). I fish Haven several times a year and I, knock on wood, have never experienced my vehicle being broken into nor have I ever seen anyone's vehicle broken into while I've been there. Maybe I've just been lucky. I have heard rumors, mostly online here, that vehicles have been broken into, but all I can go with is what I know first hand. It's a nice lake to fish with some very good fishing.

I never go to haven after dark anymore, during the day i leave my windows down; I don't have anything in the truck that costs as much as a window. Haven is not as good as it was before they killed the weeds anyhow. There are very few tournaments on milford ponds. They were on all the lists a few years ago. The weeds increased the oxygen levels, provided structure fo fish, and filtered and cleaned the water. I live there as go elsewhere to fish, Griffths, and Haven is where I used to fish the most.

thanks for the info. Killins,Courseys,Andrews and McGinnis ponds are all 10 min from me. Gonna try them, next 2 to 3 weeks.
lakes of Delaware From: riverrat24 (69.136.90.106), Pennsylvania
High guys,

I'm considering coming down to Del. this Oct. to do some fishing. I would be staying near Millsboro. Would it be better to bring a bass boat (21ft. Stratos), or the river boat (16ft. Alumacraft). Millsboro is approx. 4hrs from my house(north of harrisburg, pa).

thanks for any help

riverrat

Boat size From: bassinboy1949 (68.238.231.185), Delaware
With the exception of the nanticoke river, you would be better off with the smaller boat. smaller boat would be ok there with 40 hp. i fish a 17ft aluminum which is excellent for shallow ponds, i also have a crawdad for places with no ramps. we have done well in tournaments with the 17 ft aluminum in the past on nanticoke. all of this assumes your small boat is rigged for bass.
