The town of Rumford was supposed to fix it this summer. The last time I called (late Aug.) they had not gottin to it yet. If you call the town office, they will give you the road dept. # to call. I must have left the # in Maine at my cabin. If you get an answer, post it. It looks like a good stretch to fish, Maybe next year. The last time I was out on the river was 2001 and the bass fishing was not that good but there was a nice mix of fish, mostly pickerell, and my son and I love catching those maniacs. I spent a week in Norway this summer and one rainy day when the girls decided to go shopping I hit the river in Mexico behind a car repair shop near a bridge. I fished for a half without a bite then nailed a 12" and a 20" rainbow on a 5" rapala behind a rip. The rain started up real good and then smallies turned on. Got 5 up to 4lbs on the same lure. We did float the river up by Bethel after the big rain only to find it basically unfishable though a nice float trip with the fam. Great river. Ive fished the Penob ande Kenne over the last 20 yrrs and the Andro is definately up there for quality. |
