i ike to fish the New also, i fish down near Austinville or Foster Falls. its near the N.C. va. state line. If you don't mind sharing what color jig do you use in the late fall or winter. I use homemade 1/8 oz jigs using a do-it shakyhead or regular round head with no weedguard. I use silicone skirt material ordered from Barlows in Watermelon pepper. I don't use a lot of skirt material on each jig, most times I'll take one section of skip cut skirt material and cut it in half making two jigs out of one skirt section. The trailer I normally use is a Netbait Paca Chunk in Watermelon Pepper, Watermelon Candy or Summer Craw. When assembled the lure looks like a softshell craw. I know there aren't any softshells running around in 40 degree water but apparently that doesn't bother the bass any.
