Tournament From: appraiser (24.181.62.160), South carolina
Glad to hear the lake is being productive. I am fishing a tournament Saturday and will be putting in at the State Park (if it is safe). Any good advise besides don't run over anything?

Yep, the fishing on Wateree is worth missing work......I fished the Fed tourney on Saturday the 8th. All teams including me and my partner had a limit. The limits went from just under 9 lbs, all the way up to over 20 lbs. All most teams reported catching double digit numbers of fish...........I know i've got chaffed thumbs right now from lipping all day.......

Appraiser-not sure what to suggest for Saturday. Fish were caught all over on all sorts of different things.

...try the last pier with 4 or 5 feet of water in the back of any cut or creek.....jig-n-pig or curly tail worm (pumpkin)....should get you a limit....keep a white fluke handy for schoolers....buddy said the larger fish came off long red points...???...when leaving State Park , head south...

Yep, the fishing last Sat on Wateree was good, but the quality bites were slow. You must be patient and continuously bang the structure over and over to irritate the big girls into biting. One or two casts won't due.

If you see bass chasin' and pick off one or two small ones...keep at it and work the bait from different angles...same for structure. Your lure of confidence will work provided you put it in front of them.

Our heavy sack came off a variety of lures using the same technique...repetition. The strike zone seemed to be small later in the day as the sun popped out.

With the weather warm and hopefully sunny this weekend the bass should be found around docks and rock points w/deep water access. With the water level so far down, this is great time to scout the bank for good fishing spots when the water level finally returns to normal.

Plastics are always productive...go with the drop shot...even in shallow water. It works!

Best of Luck and Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the remarks. The weather from what I understand is going to be pretty crappy Saturday. (wind and rain) Maybe the "jig" will still be productive. The landing at the State Park is now closed so we have moved the tournament to Dutchman. Again, Thanks for the help.
