I have had to opportunity to fish these tournaments the past 2 years, and fished one this year. These guys are nice as they come. I am sure if anyone was DQ'd, it was justified. I highly doubt they were worried about losing their $10 entry fee. It is all for fun. If you didn't know the rules and times, maybe you should have asked. Most everyone fishing these have fished them before and know them. I will be back at them on my next Friday off!!! Looking forward to fishing with you guys again! The guys putting this on are great and do everything by the book. When I pulled up, my live well was checked and the rules were told to me. I guess if you don't know, you should ask. I didn't fish that night. Cameron is new to running the tournament, but he is doing a good job. He is serious about making things work for everyone involved. Last year during one of the tournaments, we nearly had a mishap at the bridge. Myself and another boat slowed for the bridge, but three boats ran wideopen coming very close to our boats. The tournament director saw what happened. After that we were asked to go on idle under the bridge. These guys run a good tournament. My first tournament I was taking back a 1 lb 12oz fish to the water to turn it loose. The tournament director called and told me I'd better weigh it. That night it was good for 3rd place. I never dreamed it would finish in the money. Cameron has done a good job by putting out a rules sheet. If you are new, just ask for one. He keeps them in is truck. No way is he going to cheat someone out of their money. |
