Grasshopper - It was slow for us, Saturday. We got on some fish early on the blades but when it quit - it quit. They pulled water hard Friday and must have pulled all night. The fish just weren't hungry. Had one odd catch. I caught a fat but not real big rock bass on a 3/4oz jig pitching patchy grass.. The little guy hit hard and when I set the hook, he was buried in the grass. I thought I had a nice fish.. bahaha! Sure hope the fishing is better this coming weekend! Is the worm bite started up yet on Guntersville? How's the grass doing? Worm and Grass From: Luvie, Alabama I don't think the worm bite has hit a stride yet. But then by Saturdays results, the only thing they would hit was a spinnerbait. LOL! I did throw a worm off and on Saturday without a nibble. I couldn't even buy a bite on my beloved jigs... :( The grass is coming along but I've heard it's a couple of weeks behind normal. There is grass topping out on the Miracle Mile in a few spots here and there. The areas topped out now were topped out two or three weeks ago. I was hoping then that we'd have alot more by this coming Saturday but it doesn't appear that it will happen. Slow Day? From: Jason, Alabama My partner and I won that tournament Saturday. It was alot slower bite than Friday. We had over 20 on friday moving around alot. Saturday we had just over 17 we culled 3 times. My partner had a slow day just two keepers all day. But he did upgrade our catch with a 3 pounder on the last cast which made him feel alot better.The lack of wind hurt the bite on Saturday you really had to slow down. |
