JD were they females? I saw a lot of that in the BAIT tournament on Saturday. I think that these might be post spawn females injuries from bumping up against logs to loosen their eggs. It's part of the ritual. sores From: JimmyCatch 5, Virginia i see it alot this time of year,, it could be from being caught already , being dropped in the boat , handling the fish ,, look at there mouth , and youll see hook tears ,in the jaw .. i thought when they lose the slime off there sides or body ,it causes infection .. never see it early in the season , so who knows ,, but it sure is nasty .. JD Bad Spots From: RyanC/LanierSpots, Georgia The red spots you see on the fish this time of year is actually called "Red sore disease". Alot of lakes have this and it is a bacteria. I will put some info together and post it here. I talked with Reggie Weaver about it a few times in the past. Nothing to worry about and its not caused by poor handling or the spawn. I will put something together after my trip today
