reply to cooper report From: Gwod (192.94.94.5), Wyoming
Why buy one of those high dollar hand held gps gizmos when all you have to do is mark the spot with a big white x on the side of the boat.
Cooper Lake From: tj from Texas (63.122.28.5), Texas
Maybe it's just me, but I thought the point of competing in a tournament was to test your own skills at reading the water and the conditions, finding fish, and competing fairly against the other fishermen in the tournament. I understand your rationale for using a guide but have to say I don't agree with it. Paying a guide to show you a bunch of good spots and good lures the day before a tournament does not strike me as fair or ethical. What's next? Catching a bunch of fish the week before, putting them in a tank, then running and getting them come weigh in time? "We just did it 'cause we'd never been to this lake before!"
Loooozers From: Clint (143.166.82.241), Texas
Hey Chris looks like 2 people that didn't win read your report. They'll cry and complain about guides and fish finding technology like a GPS. I bet they use depth finders and read these reports on a regular basis... How is that any different?

Pre-fishing with a guide From: csmith (143.166.82.241), Texas
Much of any guides business is pre-fishing for tournaments, ask any of them. I shared information learned from the guide with several of my competitors, some had fish to weigh and some didn't. Another competitor hired a guide and only spent 2 hours on the lake, then headed to fork for better fishing. Hope you don't 'cheat' by reading the fishing reports or talking to the guy at the local bait shop. Everyone tries to get as much info as possible about a lake and current conditions, I just happened to have paid someone who makes his living doing that. It doesn't matter if it's a tournament or a weekend with the family, I fish for fun, and it's more fun if you catch fish.

Clint and I aren't the same person, we just work at the same company and the ip is the same. Clint and I fish in the same club. Last month he and I pre-fished together, even though he wasn't my partner for the tournament, He and his partner won 1st and were fishing in sight of me most of the day. Good for them. It's all about having fun catching fish.
Cooper Lake Report/Pre-Fishing w/ guide From: JanB (64.157.119.90), Texas
Thanks for a great report and I'm gonna try your suggestions this weekend in a small club tournament. I haven't been on this lake in 3-4 years; and have not had time to go prefish on my own or with a guide. I have no problem with hiring someone to teach you how to fish a lake or help pattern one previous to a tournament--wish I could afford it more often. A guide can be a useful tool!
WWBBT12 Lake Cooper From: Wade Williams (63.101.70.207), Texas
Recently, I held my annual tournament on Lake Cooper and everyone involved had a great time. The tournament is designed to be "fun", and the goal is to get everyone together, have a safe day on the lake, share some good times and try to catch some fish. The accommodations and staff were fantastic at the South Sulphur Unit State park. The weather was pleasant and we caught enough fish for a weigh in. Everyone who fished in the tournament followed the rules and regulations that I set forth. Everyone was courtious and thankful we had a sucessful event. I want to thank evryone who participated and hope to see them all again next year. Best of luck , Wade
