I know that the sandbass have been schooling around the dam..can you tell me if there's any where I can get to these fish from the bank?? Any help will be appreciated...thanks in advance. 7/24 pm sandies From: nitro896 (208.190.47.169), Texas I went out yesterday evening with my 5 year old daughter and 14 year old nephew about 6:00 pm, and we could only find a few, which were all under 10". We couldn't get anything to bite on slabs or little georges, and could only catch them by throwing a topwater directly on top of one that was chasing shad at that moment. There were a few boats in the vicinity but noone was doing much good. The ones we did pick up were just off the rip-rap on the west end of the dam (just east of the gates). I assume you could walk onto the face of the dam and be able to catch them. In fact, the largest schooling action we saw was only about the size of a car hood, but was only 10 - 15 feet off the dam, so you could probably find some fishing there. |
