Mary's River From: TheReelMan (216.79.172.187), Georgia Hey I have just moved here from N.Y. and am trying to learn the Altamaha River without much luck. I have a 17 ft. SeaNymph so if you can get your boat in I should have no problem. I had heard that you needed a smaller boat to fish that river. My question to you is what can you tell me about the river? Does it have white perch and brim in it? I might try and drive down there this Saturday and try it out. Any info would be appreciated. I may be there on sat. the river is dark stained and deep 20-30' in the middle. 10-12' 15 feet off the banks. its avg width is about 100 yards or so.
