Bone Creek From: ring fry (208.190.249.73), Kansas
great report! Recently moved to about 5 miles from Bone Creek. Have not fished it yet. Will try to fish next couple of days. Sounds like you had a great evening! Can I get around good enough in my 11' Coleman, or do I need to take my bass boat. The crawdad is perfect for most of the pits I've been fishing, and am hoping at Bone Creek as well. Thanks. Jon K.

I take my 10' Scamp up there all the time and it works perfect. One thing to remember, is to take Life Jackets for each person in the boat!!!!!!!! If u r just fishing by yourself, it's easier to ld and unld at Leaning Tree ramp, instead of the main one. It's true, smaller boats like Scamps/Crawdads are better for this lake, and I know for a fact that I catch more and bigger fish than the guys in the larger boats, because I can get back in the stuff where these fish dont get as much pressure, as the main lake. Just push yourself through the trees and tear the limbs off.
23" by what? From: jackballs (216.188.12.11), California
i think your scale might be wrong. 23" should weigh more than 5 pounds. unless it was real skinny, like 14" girth.(wh/ could be the case but that seems unlikely) the fish calculator formula is weight=length * girth * girth/800. i always use at least 850 as my denominator. and i found for big fish you should divide by 875. and in extreme big cases upto 950. but if catch a bass with a girth of over 18.5" its reasonable to believe its nearing the 10 pound mark.(23*18.5*18.5/875=8.99 pounds) its just a guide to go by, but it might help if you think it might have been bigger. i guess a good scale is still the best, but the only good scales ive ever found are at the tournament dock or the supermarket.
take it easy From: joe H (204.233.145.55), Missouri
Man, your trying way to hard. His weight and lenght are right for this area. I've caught several like that at bone creek. I always weigh and measure. Same at big hill, stockton or any other lake around here.
