hi,

where were you in norton, the resevoir or winnie??

Location From: Freshie (165.247.2.252), Massachusetts
Ace, I was fishing the Resevoir. Norton has been fantastic this year, producing a boat load of fours and a half-dozen fives. But what's very interesting about this lake is where are the huge fish. I've been fishing Norton for eight plus years and have caught numerous fours and fives, but only two sixes. What happens to these quality fish? Do they die, or just get a memory?
norton res. From: ace (63.214.113.175), Massachusetts
i don't know where the big ones went, freshie....... i have only fished norton res. one time, and was not much successful. have been much more successful on winnecunnet, but not this year what i remember about norton res. is that it is pretty shallow......... when i went i had a jonboat so it was no big deal. now i have a little stratos............ where do you launch,,,,,,i remember there is one road with cottages on it that had a dirt ramp, sort of....... where do you launch your nitro???? i know a friend of mine who caught a nice one or two by the lily pads near the road............rt 140 or whatever it was..... nice to hear that this year was goodtoya on the resevoir. wish i had known, would have tried it. .........and today, of all things, some jackalope rear-ended me on the way to work, and totally bent f'd up my rear bumper and towing rig.......... and where was she from??? Ace you launch your boat down Juniper Street. It's off of Resevoir Road which connects to Rte. 140 in two locations. One end is north of the Tweeter Center and the other is further south but before the Rte. 123 intersection. When you go down Juniper you take a left before the last house on the left. You must follow the dirt road all the way around the house. I don't own a Nitro, wish I did, I fish out of a 10 hp 15 ft jon boat. I was fishing from my friends boat on that particular posting. By the way I was out there today 10/21. Four Bass 3.75, a 2.5 and two 12 inchers. All on my own poured jigs.
Norton Res From: Will (128.221.17.4), Massachusetts
I used to fish the small weedy side on the right out of my canoe. Caught a 6lber and a 5.5 on Memorial Day in 96. Freshie, is it OK to launch from that dirt road? Place to park? I have a small 12foot boat that I trailer behind my Camry, think I could launch OK? thanks
Launching From: Freshie (165.247.2.36), Massachusetts
Will, it's a sandy beach. I used to launch with a 2 by 4 pickup. I had rear wheel drive, I'd just put strips of plywood under my tires. I also had 2 walk ramps so I could push my boat off. If you have front wheel drive you might be okay. It's a little risky. I'd find a way that you could push your boat off. Sometimes the sand can be to soft and you don't want to back in too far!
