Dinks all around! I don't know of anyone who caught a limit Saturday, but a few folks managed 3 keepers. We did find one cove that gave up quite a few short fish, they pounded flukes, crankbaits, or just about anything thrown at them. Not a keeper in the bunch. What are they going to say when the water turns a nice milky color instead of the nice green color it should be. What will they say when they can't even go on the water because of the kids that have there parents boat for the day and don't know how to drive them? It first discussed wooing ducks with plants in Lake Austin in 1926. Fifteen years later, the city and federal government had created an official wildfowl refuge, with millet and other seeds planted in the lake. But by 1946, the situation had gone amok. The problem was not ducks, but weeds. The battle to rid the lake of choking duckweed continues today. |
