Hagg Lake Bass From: EX-Bass guide (192.65.40.9), Oregon
I have fished Hagg only a few times for bass but have done good. My biggest is over 4 pounds. I have been fishing the bay on the west end of the dam. It is best fished early. I have also had good luck on the smallies on the dam. I would also try a crank bait on the boat ramps. Also I would focus on the areas with water entering the lake. Rocks very early has always worked well for me. There are also some nice rocks north of boat ramp C about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile north. Also if you know were the old standing trees are they should hold some fish too. The bait fish seam to be holding shallow early so bass could be holding shallow early. I have not put my bass boat in the lake yet, but maybe this can help you. If you like to fish for L.M. Bass you also need to think about going north for some VERY good L.M. bass fishing. Silver lake (Exit 49 on I-5) is the best bass lake in western Washington. I did guide there for 10 years. I now live in Aloha and hope to guide on the columbia in about 3 or 4 more years. But it's not bad if you are in to Combat bass fishing. No offense Roger, just being honest. We are talking about L.M. bass. I do beleave the the columbia river is better than silver but it is a great small mouth bass water. You can got over 100, 2pound pluss bass from the columbia most days. The Columbia is the only world class bass fishery in the northwest.
