Brent what more do you want.Sounds like a good day of fishing to me.Yes the fish are alot harder to catch now due to the pressure.I think that if a guy can get a limit of bass anywhere he has done very well.Your buddy had a great day, a six pounder that is awesome.Yes go ahead and give Silverwood a try and lets see how you do please post and let us know I would be willing to bet there would be no six pounder most likly not even a couple of 4 pounders.

Well what do you expect. It is October... Brand new lake... The fish are freeking out. Besides how long did it take you to figure out your other lakes???? I am sure that you didn't go to one of your other lakes and kill'em the first day.. Have a little faith brother....

Fished Sunday, 10/19/03. 2 Anglers - 1 fish

We too had a rough day of it, our first day on the new lake. I did manage to stick one very nice fish on a Texas rigged Senko(Smoke w/Purple Flake). It was the only fish I saw all day long. As per everyones reports, we were fishing deep(TO ME 30-40 FEET IS DEEP.) NOTHING. So, we fished REALLY DEEP(+50 FEET) Thats were I got bit, at about 60 feet. I will say that the fish did pull harder than the average bass I'm used to pulling on. But, at the same time, I've never pulled a largemouth out of 60 feet of water, it almost felt like dead weight at first, until he got to color, then he really took off and the fight was on. When we saw him at color, he looked really big. He had a huge gaping jaw(you could have stuck a softball in his mouth), and he was nice and fat. He looked like he would have gone at least 5#, but he was just barely under 4#.

You'd like to believe some of the hype, and it seams that the quality of fish is definitely there. And I know that it is October and it is a bit slow all over, but the numbers just weren't there. Still, I'm not about to give up on it yet. I think we just need to pay our dues on this one and spend some more time on the water to learn the lake. But, at this point, I really couldn't tell anybody anything other than fish deep(REALLY DEEP) and that I got bit on a Purple Senko...and please practice catch and release.

4:20 BASSERS

Dvl From: Brent (12.80.13.139), California
Corn,

I did see an amazing 12.45 lb bass being weighed in and released. it was a beautiful fish and from what they said at the dock was just barely by a couple of ounces shy of the lake record. Caught in 35 ft of water on a purple Yamamoto grub.

DVL-a piece of crap? From: Chris (68.5.255.54), California
what the heck is wrong with you??

4-5 fish including a 3-4 pounder? I doubt weather you have evr done anything more than throw worms into a mudpuddle anyway pal, but you need to get real.

Go try Powell or Mead, you can fish there for 4 days and not get bit till the last day of a tourny.

Go try netting butterflies.

I'M SHOCKED AT YOUR LACK OF PATIENCE BROTHER !! EVERY LAKE TAKES TIME TO LEARN. I'VE BEEN ON THIS LAKE TWICE. ONCE BEFORE IT OPENED TO THE PUBLIC & IT WAS INCREDIBLE & THE SECOND TIME WAS NOVEMBER 2nd, & IT WAS INCREDIBLE !! COLD & WINDY AS HECK, BUT STILL MANAGED ABOUT TWENTY FISH FROM 2lb-6lb. I JUST THREW EVERYTHING I KNEW AT DEPTHS BETWEEN 30 & 50 FEET & FINALLY PATTERNED THEM AFTER THREE HOURS OF SEARCHING. THIS LAKE IS A TREMENDOUS FISHERY & IT'S IN OUR BACK YARD !! PERSONALLY I THINK WERE DAMN LUCKY TO HAVE IT & I LOOK FORWARD TO MY NEXT DAY ON THE WATER THERE !! JUST SLOW IT DOWN & THINK LIKE A BASS !!

I've caught bass all over the world and if you think this overhyped lake is great you have not fished in a real bass lake. ANY Southern lake is 10 times better for volume and quality. Before you oper your buttmud sucking little punk$%s mouth you better think twice. By the way I've seen butterflys with higher IQs than you.

11/15 Just got back from the lake.We had tough fishing all day until the storm front moved in.Once the cloud cover got thick and it started drizzling I knew it was time to take out the big guns.Throw giant ospreys and be persistent and you will land a giant fish. Today was an eight pounder, another day could be larger. It's a matter of how hard you want to work and how bad you want it.Drop shotting and worms are great and you will catch fish off of them, but if you want a monster throw the big baits. Keep the faith.
