Howdy, Fished up there the other day, same scenario, tons of followers on swimbaits but no takers, and anything you toss into the shallows gets hammered by these small bass,heck some of the schools of small bass could have passed for schools of shad they were so large. Castaic From: George (66.88.214.162), California My partner was chucking the swimbait and there were some serious fish following it, "big fish". But no real aggressive ones, just taking a look I guess, I saw somw from beside him that had to go over 6 easy, there was one that he saw that I did not that was a monster, it had to be because he said it was way larger than the ones we had been seeing all day. With this cold snap they've moved out, it will be interesting to see what happens to the shad. Castaic From: jeff (206.175.153.4), California What size and type swimbait was he throwing? Any areas you could recommend? Trout Plants From: Corn (209.179.232.254), California Dude, wait 'til they start stocking trout in there again. (If they do, I wonder if they will, at least until they close.) Those bass haven't been chasing trout all summer, so they aren't used to eating them right now. But, just wait until they throw a couple thousand of them in there, and the bass start tasting them again, they'll start rippin' the swim baits instead of just following them around. Just wait... <*)))))>{ 4:20 BASSERS Castaic? From: George (66.88.214.162), Canada Man, Me and my partner got our butts wooped somthin fierce a week ago. Fished a local tournament up there, and it was cold, wet and generally lousy fishing. We did get quite a few followers and stripers were tappin the swimbaits but nothing of consequence. Total catch for the day was 1 fich for a meesly 2.8lbs. Boy talking about humbling. |
