Brent,

I've only been on the lake twice, and I've only caught one fish. Would it be safe to say that I should be able to catch more fish where I got that one??? We fished the spot pretty good when I got bit, but we didn't get bit again. I didn't fish the same spot the second time we fished. I'll definitely fish the same spot again this weekend. Have you thrown any Senko's at them??? That skinny worm they came out with has been my go-to bait lately...

Now that everyone has calmed down since the lake has opened, how is the pressure on the weekends. Can you give me an approx. amount of boats on the lake is their a line to get in. Also, I heard they are just checking gas receipts now to make sure that you have Chevron in the tank. Thanks for any info, I'd really like to try it on a weekend if it's not too crowded. j

Jay,

The pressure is non existent. The lines usually launch in 15 - 30 minutes max. on any day including weekends. If your boat is inspected and has a MWD sticker they usually don't bother inspecting. No reservations required. As of Jan 20th all gas stations must have MTBE free fuel and receipts will no longer be needed.

Hey guys, I have been following the reports you've been posting on this new lake and it sounds fantastic. I live on the east coast and plan on fishing there in the fall and was wondering if anyone has information on the cost of the rentals they have there? And is there a limit to the number of boats they let on the lake in a day? Keep up the great postings, and tight lines to all. Thanks.

No dinks,

Go to the lakes website @ dvmarina.com it has all of the info you're looking for. There's never a crowd because they don't allow jet ski's or water skiing. Only sailing or fishing with a 25 MPH speed limit. The rental boats are nice with fish finders and trolling motors. The fishing is not what most people are used to here. Anywhere from 2' to 60' deep on plastics. VERY clear water. Usually 15'+ visibility. They also have rainbow trout that can be caught year round as well. Large 6" - 10" plastic trout swimbaits can be effective at the right times as well. They have very nice facilities with large clean floating restrooms around the lake. A 10 lane launch ramp. Never a wait. Follow the website and it will tell you what they are currently catching them on and there's a gallery with some photos. These are the hardest fighting bass Iv'e ever seen and I grew up bass fishing all over down south.

Good Luck and hope to see you there,

Brent

Hey Brent,

Thanks for the timely reply. It is people like you that keep this sport alive. Sounds like you guys are blessed with a true gem out there. Can't wait to see it with my own two eyes! Tight lines my man, and thanks again. If you ever get back out this way, drop a line and maybe we can see about boating a few together.
