Great Miami River From: Angler002 (172.167.51.222), Ohio
If you were fishing the dam bellow West Carrilton, then that was the Great Miami River. The Stillwater runs into the Miami above Dayton. Both points are acessable by boat. There is also a Marina south of Miamisburg that has bass tourneys at West Carrilton for fun/practice if interested. There is good Smallmouth and Saugie fishing above and below the dams and the pools along the river. I do a lot of my fishing in the lakes in the area and have not fished the river much. But I trust the info form where I got it from cause the guys that tell me fish the BASS and write for the DDN. Good Luck

sorry about that, thought it was the stillwater, thanks for correcting me, tell me all the hot spots you are willing to tell me, im desperate, a lot of people where i was fishing but no one was getting anything, apparently its a good spot but maybe just not a good time
Great Miami river From: terry (204.32.114.167), Ohio
To any one. The river is full of bass-look for warm water discharges now. Minnows or crawers under a bobber now will work. In about two weeks if the weather breaks at all use smoke 3 inch grubs on 1/8 ounce jig heads. fish shollow slack water areas or gravel bars. I used to fish the river 200 days a year. Let me know how you did.
out there From: andrew (68.73.142.85), Ohio

G. miami river From: terry (206.216.195.13), Ohio
Andrew if you are fishing the spillways this time of the yeaf your best bet is for sauger ( have you ever caught one ? )Try using minnow type baits about 3 inches long. Try a orange rapala. Try this also but be very careful. Try walking out in the river on a gravel bar and throwing straight up stream with a .live nigthcrawer on a small hook and a swivel tied up your line 1 foot with a 1/8 ounce sliding weight. let it drop to the bottom and drag back very slow. this will work all year long on sauger. Never had much luck with bass this early at the spillway. There is a warm water discharge south of franklin where dpl cools their tools or one in middletown just south of the spillway.
thanks terry From: Andrew (68.73.142.85), Ohio
Ive caught quite a few sauger and walleye but not in ohio, didnt know they had that many in the river, ill try the minnow type bait, anfd i have quite a few rapalas. Thanks a lot for the information and if you can give me anymore about anything with fishing the river, i would be grateful, cant wait for this snow to stop and warm weather to come!!
river fishing From: terry (204.32.115.21), Ohio
andrew do not give up on the river, on a good day i would cath up to 75 bass a day. one of the best tips i can tell you about river fishing is when you find the fish one day if the weather does not change to the next the fish will not be far from that spot the next day. fishingat the spillway wait on the fish they will feed in short burst you may not catch anything for an hour but then bam 10 or12 fish and then the same later. always fish current eddies they will hold feeding bass in big numbers from spring until fall if you plan on fishing the spillway stock up on 4 inch grubs and 1/8 and 1/4 ounce jig heads when it gets warmer you can fish 1/4 ounce spinnerbaiys below the first ripple below the spillway.

see ya terry

smallmouth and saugeye fishing From: brian huff (64.5.161.202), Ohio
i fish the stillwater creek in the dennison area, havent had much luck yet. any tips would be appreciated.
smallmouth sauger From: terry (199.35.245.65), Ohio
brian try fishing areas with more current for sauger and saugeye they love the current and when feeding will face up stream. fish with live bait nightcrawers or minnies or bright colors 3 inch grubs white yellow orange fish slow and on the bottom cast straight up river this will cause less snags and you will have better feel i like spiderwire smallmouth will still be in deeper water try throwing grubs on 1/8 jig heads they like more current large mouths but less then the eyes try the great miami river around middletown
haha From: andrew (68.73.137.227), Ohio
