Fished the Long Creek Arm from 5-3-04 to 5-6-04. Temp was 61 in the am to 72 in the pm. Fishing was tough as the lake dropped about 5 feet in the 4 days we were on it. Caught a couple nice bass in front of Big Ceder on a Watermelon Wave Worm. 3 1/2 lb and 3 lb back to back casts. Fished it weightless and fished it slow. Casted up into the newly flooded brush. Caught on keeper on a black spinner bait after sundown by the docks in Persimmon cove. Other than that, just a few short ones, all on that wave worm or a Red Shad Kinami Worm. Got tired of no action so we hauled down to Cricket Creek in Arkansas and filled the boat with crappies. All on an 1/8th oz chrome headed chartruese jig. Be careful if you head down there. The farther south you go, the more debris thats in the water. Talked to a few guys at the resort that were having some luck on motor oil french fries. The bite just seemed to be hit or miss all week.
