Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Tubed Lake Los Carneros in Goleta, California this morning. Started off with the buzzbait for one short strike. Switched to the weightless 5 inch Salt Shaker Worm and it went wide. Ended up with 17 bass and one bullhead. All fish caught on the Salt Shaker except one caught flipping a Bleeding Bluegill colored California Spyder Grub. Most fish were decent sized with one that was about 14 inches that had about a 10 inch bullhead in it's stomach with the tail sticking out of it's throat.
My friends Brian and Bryan were also there. They each had their share of bass also. I think Brian got about half of his flipping and half on the weightless Salt Shaker. Bryan flipped and used crankbaits for his fish.
Went back to Los Carneros this evening with my son Pierce. Just fished from shore for a bit while he fed the ducks. Los Carneros is almost impossible to fish from shore but I was able to get one fish for Pierce on the weightless Salt Shaker. It was his first bass. Once I knew I was bit I handed him the rod and he did the rest (almost). His hookset needs a little work so after it was on there for a couple seconds I grabbed the rod and set it a little better. After that it was all him.
