Submitted by 'fishinfarmer' - Went back to Grand Lake on May 21, 22, and 23. My wife and I went out with Ivan Martin from Martin's Landing Friday afternoon and once again he didn't let us down. We kept 60 White Bass that weighed from 1 to 2 lbs and threw back a lot more. Ivan does a great job keeping track of the fish and knowing where to find them. Wife and I went back to Ivan's spots and boated another 35 on Saturday and 25 on Sunday. Was real windy on the lake but the water was not rough on Elk River. Had a big fish fry Saturday night and still stocked the freezer. We were fishing on the Elk River, near the Highway 10 bridge in 15 to 20' of water on the ledge where it dropped off to the river bed. Water temp was 75 degrees and we were using 1/4oz jigs with blue/white shads and grubs, mostly jigging off the bottom. If you want to catch fish, call Ivan. He's one of the best guides I've ever used. When I want to catch fish, I go out with him for 1/2 day then go back to same places the next day or two without him. I've told him that's what I do and he doesn't care. He also posts a super Grand Lake fishing report and keeps it updated 2 or 3 times a week. You can find it on the web at www.grandfishingreport.com

Stayed at a place called Blue Bluff Harbor on Elk River. They are family owned. Not fancy but cabins were clean and beds were fine. Had nice boat slips available. At one time they had a cafe and fuel at their dock but don't have them this year. Prices are reasonable. 2 bedroom cabin is $80 a night plus $5 for a slip. They have a web site at www.bluebluffharbor.com if you're interested. Good luck to all.
