Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Decided to fish the canal with a buddy for Smallies. Started at 6 a.m. above Mecca California, working the in-flows and the out-flows of the aquaducts with Pop-r's and twitch baits. Caught a couple of 1-2 lb. smallies. Kept working our way down the canal with Roboworms (motor oil)and Power finesse worms (bubble gum). Caught 10 smallies altogether, the largest, a 2 pounder on a 3/8th oz. white spinnerbait with single silver colorado blade. Fished till 3 p.m., but the desert heat finally got to us (it was 104 in the shade), and we called it quits. A fun fishing trip, but very exhausting!
