Fished Okmulgee City Lake Saturday in the 1st Annual "Okmulgee Invitational". I fished with my Dad as partner against some of my friends and their Dads. Had a great time and caught alot of fish, probably 25+ for the day. The only bad thing is that they were all in the 11 1/2" to 11 15/16" range, we couldn't catch any that measured. Caught our fish on everything from shallow to deep.I fished some bigger baits jigs, lizard and flukes, and still only little guys would hit it. We caught 2 that weighed over the whole day. That seemed to be the story of the day, because out of all the other teams, only one had fish to weigh. Our 2 went a little under 4lbs. and the winners had 2 that went right at 4. The Win and Big fish go to my buddies, Jeff and Ron, with 4lbs. and a 15" hawg. The kicker is, I let my buddy(who got his rods stolen out of his boat) barrow a couple of rods, one of them had my "Okmulgee Custom" spinnerbait on it and he wears us all out with my gear. Sounds like its time to collect my rods and rental fees. Or at least my spinnerbait.

All in all a great day and alot of fun on the water, especially with Dad. We figuered going into it that 5 fish at around 10lbs. was going to be what it took, and big fish was anyones game. This lake has put up some nice fish for all of us, just a tough big fish bite this time around. Never know what will happen next time, I already can't wait to go again. Tight lines, All.
