Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Was a good day with 37 Bass brought to the boat. Only 11 were greater than the 14" minimum length. Best 5 would weigh about 13lbs.
I thought the fish would be staged on the deep ledge in 30 feet of water. Fish figured differently since I had no bites and never marked a fish near that ledge. Spent 3 hours in that fruitless search. I did locate a big concentration on the Northwest side which has a ledge that drops from 15 to 22 feet and has some good grass on it. I used a dropshot with a 5" finesse worm and the color had to be a light shade of green. Tried other colors and had nada for bites. I was sticking bass mostly in the 11 to 13 range till I noticed the bigger bass would smack it if I had to pop it out of the grass. So I started popping the bait off the bottom as soon as it landed and the catch ratio to casting picked of vastly. Only I would also say I missed an embarrassingly large amount of fish too. Least they were biting using the technique.
And for you crappie fishermen, they where all over the area in front of the Enlisted club tearing the minnows up.
