Quit work at noon to take my youngest (5) out for Stripers. We put in at Red Top Mountain and headed south to 10A. Marked some bait in the far cove on the right, downlined with no luck. Came out of the cove and fished south west of the camp dock and that was the ticket. Downlined large shiners at 20ft and one flatline. First line hit was my kids ultralight with 6lb test - 17 inch Spot, MAN that fish worked my son!! Reloaded his hook and BAM a 5.5lb Hybrid took him for a 15 minute ride while I brought up a 3lb Hybrid. Then we hooked the U-rigs up for some trolling, same location. First hooked a nice 4lb Hybrid on the 3 arm 7 jig Cpt. Mack U-rig behind the boat 80ft, and then the biggest one of the day a 7.3lb Striper on the same 3 arm Urig. Didn't get any hits on the 4 arm Urig. Decided to try for some Bluegills with redwigglers to give him some practice casting, first spot a nice 13 inch Spot gave him a great fight.

Met up with the Pres. of Coosa Stripers club, he said he'd headed up towards Galts and hit 30 nice stripers running live bait near the wall drop offs.

Gotta work and party tomorrow and then back on the lake with my kid on Saturday after the hangover is off!!
