Water Clarity: 6 inches Went fishing at my neighbor's pond here in Leon, Mason County with my two boys ages 8&5 on Sunday Feb 27,2005. It was our first time out this year. My boys did'nt catch anything, they mostly ran and played. Fished from about 2:00-4:00pm. Tried a 3/8 oz. Strike King bleeding spinnerbait in chart/white reeling just fast enough to keep it out of the slimy bottom scum. My new Rapala X-rap did'nt draw a strike either. First bass of the year came on a 3/16 oz. #5 Rapala Shad rap in baby bass color. The pond is kind of shallow so I would just reel it in slowly until it touched the weeds and then let it float back up a little. Bass hit it as it floated up and it felt like a soft plastic worm hit. Bass was 13 1/2" long and weighed 1 lb. 2oz. on Rapala digital scales. Can't wait to get back out again.
