Water Clarity: 0 Fishing at Huites continues to be very good. The bass are up for the spawn, and our customers are catching them on virtually every lure. Topwaters, lizards, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, you name it. Boats are averaging 90-140 bass per day per boat. Last week's big bass was 9.6 lbs. Alot of fish in the 3-6 pound range are coming in. The lake is still clearing from the heavy November rains, which brought the lake up almost 150 feet. The lower end of the lake is still somewhat offcolored, with the canyons being mostly clear. We are extremely excited about the fishing during the next 60 days, as the lake is full and clearing. April, May and June have historically been some of the best fishing of the year, in particular for the big fish. With the newly flooded brush and clearing water, spinnerbaits and topwaters should be excellent. Swimbaits will continue to be important as well, especially during the day when the bass suspend on the points.
