Just wanted to drop a courtesy note that the St. Andrew's School boat ramp on Noxontown Pond will not be open this Sunday, March 20. There are no other scheduled Sunday closures until May.

As a reminder, the ramp is open Sundays only from March 1 until June 30, subject to a few closure dates.

From July 1 until October 31, the ramp is open daily, subject to a few closure dates.

Rules and terms of ramp usage are clearly posted at the gate and launching ramp. Failure to comply may result in individual exclusion and possible permanent closure of the ramp. The most important of these is adherence to the Delaware state law limiting the size of engines to 5-HP.

Ramp users must also comply with the area restrictions along all northern and northwestern campus and residential shorelines. Best practice is to avoid any area or cove where you can see a building further inland. A map is posted at the launching ramp to clearly define the areas of concern. If you are asked by campus or security personnel to leave an area, you must do so immediately.

Please remember that the ramp area must be vacated of all people and vehicles BEFORE dusk or 8 p.m., WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. When daylight is scarce in the spring, that means the ramp will close WELL BEFORE 8 PM.

Many thanks to all of the folks who made last year's season one with the fewest incidents on record. Your respect for the School's terms of usage was greatly appreciated.
