Date Fished: 3/17/2005 Hit the Willamette upstream from downtown Portland for a quick check on water conditions. Flipped out a 5" Green/Brown Senko for about 10 minutes - last cast something swallowed, ran, and spit out. Switched out to a 3" Lime w/Flake Senko and nailed smallmouth on every cast for about 25 minutes. Then all of a sudden the action stopped. Switched out to other Senkos, rapallas, and spinner baits. Nothing. Only fished for about 1-1/2 hours, but hooked eight smallmouth and landed five. Very scrappy tough fish! Looked like I was fishing the tide just as it was going out.
