Subject: Tidal Brandywine River, Delaware

Date Fished: 4/1/2005
Water Temperature: 52
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Went back to the Brandywine today and caught 3 smallies. Biggest was 2.75 lbs & 17 & 1/2 inches long. The very next cast I hooked into another. At first I thought it was a striper because how strong it was. It was pulling drag like it was nothing. Caught a glimpse of the fish before it came unbottoned at the boat and it was in the 3 & 1/2 lbs or better. Probably the biggest smallmouth I've ever had on. My personal best is 3.78 lbs from Conowingo. Each bass were caught on a green pumpkin tube on a 1/8 oz. lead head. The smaller bass were around 13 inches. The fish was weighed in at Shooters Supply and release back into the water.
