Water Clarity: 0 The reports we are getting out of our Lodge at Lake Huites is that the fishing is the best is has been in three years. Our clients are averaging 120-150 fish per day per boat. The impressive part of the reports, however, are the size of the fish. Lake Huites has been known historically as a great lake for numbers with big fish streaks thrown in. It is currently on a big fish run, which started about three weeks ago. Fish are coming on virtually any pattern, any lure, from 0-20 feet deep. The bigger fish are coming on shad pattern deep diving crankbaits, and watermelon lizards with chartruese tail. Swim baits, topwaters, and carolina rigged brushhogs also producing. We had a cliente this week catch a 10.8 on a watermelon jig in 3 feet of water. Again, the impressive part has been a staggering number of 4-9 pound fish.
