Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Took my first ever swim today in Champlain. Yep... was tinkering around my trolling motor and my hand missed it's mark. Next thing I know I'm bobbing in the water like a crappie float. Shimmied my way to the back of the boat and climbed back in. I can only hope I was made wiser by the experience. Ended up wringing my clothes out and got back to fishing. Fished for over two hours before getting a nice SMB on a spinner-bait over a rock pile. Started hitting the hard stuff and found some SMB willing to bite. Picked up a dozen brown fish, several around 2.5-3lbs, throwing spinner-baits to any rocks I could find. Caught several short LMB along the rocks as well before getting my biggest LMB of the year @ 5.7lbs. Only got one other LMB that was legal size today. Tried the same spots I caught fish at on Saturday only to have toothy critters torpedo my bait. Have to work a ten day stretch, so won't be able to get out again till the first weekend of June.
