Hi Bassers, had a great day on the pond yesterday. Hot,bright and sunny made for yet another unbelievable day on the water with help from the bass making it perfect. I ended up boating over 30 fish, only 1 was a smallie at 2 pounds first thing in the morning on a spinnerbait in 5 feet of water. I worked my way down a shoreline throwing the spinnerbait at wood and caught a couple of nice l/m 3.8 pounds and ended up in a big cove where i knew they spawned if the water was warmer there, AND IT WAS.... The water temp went up to 68-70 within a couple of hours and i found l/m spawning all over the cove and started sight fishing. The weather had the smallie spawn messed up around here so i took full advantage of where i was. I started out flipping worms on my spinning rod with 12 pound co-polymer line in the shallow, clear water. (1-4 feet) The largemouths hit the worm for a while and when they wouldn't hit it anymore i switched to a tube and they would just kill it. This was my pattern for the rest of the day. I got to the pond around 0630 and left around 1600. Most of the buck bass were from 2-2.8 pounds but i caught alot of 3-4 pounders with one big 5 pounder for the kicker. I wasn't good at catching bedding largemouths as they tend to build their nest to blend in with the surroundings, but after a few i could see what i needed to throw at and had 4 or 5 targets ready after i caught the fish i was flipp'n at. The weather was HOT and the fising was HOT, what more could you ask for..... I understand a fellow bassers caught a monster 7 pounder that same morning so it sounds like it was a great day for everyone. Take care friends and keep fishing, DAVID
