Water Clarity: 1 foot My brother and I fished Lilly from about 8AM to 2PM. Had some nice cloud cover in the morning which kept the heat off for a while. Tried our usual spots for some smallmouth to no avail. First spot we hit I had my bait in the water some 2 minutes and got hit pretty good hit but it wound up being a white perch. After a couple more of these it was time to move. Second spot my brother hit a SM about 1 1/4lbs. Then came a couple of crappie, some rock bass, a bluegill. Next spot we drifted one of the banks for about 45 minutes with no luck at all. Before calling it a day we hit spot two again. We were marking all kinds of fish but soon discovered it was a large school of crappie in 35 to 40 feet of water. Since the bass were far and few between we stayed on the crappie for a while and managed to land about 9 good size ones. All in all the bass fishing was slow, we managed two SM and one LM none going over 1.5lbs but landed just about everything else that swims the lake short of a northern. We totalled 19 fish in all. Around 1:30 the water skiers and jet skiers got a bit busy and we called it a day.
