Fresh Water Fishing Report for: Delaware Lakes, Ponds, Rivers and Upper Chesapeake Bay Updated: July 19, 2005. Red Mill Hot Water = Hot Fishing! Good day, I ran down to Red Mill this morning for the first time in several months.

It was a steady 83 degrees with about 12 inches visibility. I started working around the lake throwing a buzz bait to look for active fish and to explore the lake a little. I never got a hit on it so I changed to poppers and frogs with no takers on those either.

After working my way down the lake and quickly exploring the different branches of the lake I saw some stick-ups that looked too good to pass up. I slowed down and threw a GYCB Kreature at it and BAM, the fish was on. The fish tore up about 6 feet of line as it wound it's way through the submerged branch but, I drug it in and I would have sworn this fish was going to be 6+ but turned out to be 4.3. I was amazed at the fight this fish had.

I continued working my way around the lake and it was evident that the fish were holding to pads and structure. I threw a little bit of everything to see what the fish would hit but it kept going back to the Kreatures. I tried everything imaginable and every fish of the day came off of a GYCB Kreature.

The remaining fish for the day were 1.7, 3.4, 2.3, 0.2 and 0.5 . There was yet another front rolling in and only the little scrappers wanted to play. I was willing to play but after seeing the first bolt of lightening from the fast approaching front I showed the lakeside residents of Red Mill what 68MPH on a Skeeter looked like and headed for the ramp.

It was a relatively short day but it was sure fun to explore this lake. I hope to get back there when the weather calms down a little for some decent top-water action.
