Water Clarity: 1 foot

I fished a small tourney yesterday here on Grand. I made a short run to a spot I had been catching some top water fish. Couldn't get a bite, on to a few more top water spots with nothing to show for it at all. By this time the sun was uo and on the water so I knew I was in trbl. as I had not been doing well at all after this time.

I just started fishing one of my strengths and that is flipping boat docks. Pulled in on the second dock and bam a 2 3/4 fish out of the brush. Pitched back in and again I felt the weight of a solid fish, I do not know what happened I had it on with a solid hookset and knew it was a good fish, it made a run back under my boat and was just gone, upsetting but at least I thought I had them figgered out.

About the 5th dock I hit, I had a good fish come up and grab my bait just as I lifting it out of the water, another miss. But they wanted my offering so I thought I could get a limit. Flipped a dock next to this one and caught a 14" keeper so things were looking up. But the wind was starting to really pick up and where I was fishing the flipping was gonna get real tough.

I decided to make a run up Elk River and try to get out of the wind but still fish the same type docks. Probably a mistake on my part, as all I could find were small fish. Time was getting short by then with the 1 pm weigh in so back to fight the wind, a few short fish later I boated another keeper so only needed one more for a limit.

I seemed to have lost it from there on,never got the keeper bite. A good day all in all though, I ended up with 7.27 in 3 fish, not enough for a check but a fun day competeing on the water.

Till next time, Good Luck and Good Fishing
