Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater spent the last 3 days on Erie out of buffalo area. fished from sturgeon point on friday and saturday. wind and waves were large and made things difficult. we fished in 25 -30 feet of water on meyers reef. struck out friday due to not having heavy enough tube heads. sat used 1/2 oz heads and was able to pick up 6 bass from 3-4 1/2 lbs. also got 2 walleye( 1 was apporox 6 lbs) and a sheephead. other boats had similar results. sunday fished a few hours out of buffalo harbor. went up near roundhouse and partner had 2 sheephead and i picked up a 2 1/2 and 4 lb smallie. if not so much grass could have done better but wind still made things difficult. 1 other boat with us picked up 5 smallies out in 20 feet of wwater.
talked to DEC i guess we should have been out in 40-50 feet of water but no way we could have dragged baits with the wind. oh well there isa always next time. still a great fishery as all our smallies were good uns.
