Subject: Dundee Pond, Maine

Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater After doing some milfoil reasearch on Sebago Lake from 8-12, I headed to nearby Dundee Pond. Fished here from 1-345, and had a hard time bringing fish to the boat. Only managed to catch 2 hefty 3lb pickeral. Started out throwing a renegade weighted bait and broke off 3 and lost 4. It must have been the old 8lb test line on a spinning rod that was causing the break-offs plus the fact that most of the largemouth in here are over 3lb.'s. Switched to my jig baitcast rod, but used the same lure and caught those 2 pics, which was strange because this spot is 20 ft with trees on bottom. Lost a few others and got frustrated so I went to silver buddy fishing in the middle off of humps and out front of coves. Couldn't even get a bite, but I imagine that is because the smallies are all congregated in one area and it is just a matter of time before you find them. Although I did horrible...lol, it was a nice day and in Maine this time of year they are hard to come by. Will try to get out on Long Pond in Parsonfield on Sunday to see if the smallies will cooperate and feed on my silver buddy. Had my best day out there in the spring, and hopefully will do just as well on sunday. I will let ya know sometime next week.
