Date Fished: 3/12/2006 Newton was a mud hole today. The lake level has come up 4 feet in 2 days. Amazing since there are no major rivers feeding this impoundment. Lots of rain the last couple of days and its still coming. The real sad part about the rain hitting now is the bass are on the beds and I'm presuming all that spawn will be lost due to the high water. Most of the lake was chocolate milk. My partner and I found some clearer water in the north end of the cold water side and got our fish on 200 series Bandits and spinnerbaits with double colorado blades and single colorado's. All together we had 18 bass. The biggest only weighing 3lbs 15oz. but several other nice keepers. Took us forever to figure out a pattern. There were a couple of Tournaments going on but we didn't see the weigh ins. Surely someone found the big gurls. They always do. Does anyone know the results of those Tournaments? Tight lines and lets some more Newton reports PLEASE.
