Subject: Guntersville, Alabama

Submitted by Curt Staley's Pitch & Cast Guide Service

Date Fished: 3/15/2006

Water Temperature: 59
Water Clarity: 1 foot

The last two days after the cold front passed through, catching has been a little tougher. Fish are very shallow and we have seen several groups of fish trying to bed, even under the cold front conditions. They are very, very spooky.

Some big fish have been caught on LIL Hustler Spinner baits, with a few on traps and a couple swimming a LiL Hustler Jig. Did not weigh the one in the pick, but she is a toad.

Have had some people say they are catching multiple fish on small jerk baits, but nothing over 3 pounds.

The water temp dropped 4 degree's over night but by mid afternoon was back up to 62. Several of the pockets have really muddied up and the main lake has a stain to it from all the wind blowing across the flats.

Take your pics and turn them loose to be caught another day and a little heavier. We need these fish to keep growing and keep reproducing. We do not need them to end up like the ones someone tossed back in the water at the Seibold ramp late last week, filleted and tossed back into the water with the fillet's cut loose and tossed in beside them. These fish were full of eggs also. Please, lets protect the resource and not waste it. There was a good group of 4 or 5 of them.

Keep it safe on the water, and we'll see out there.

Curt
